Built in the four-door Civic, the IMA is really in a category of their own. Its 1.4 litre four cylinder petrol engine is augmented with a highly sophisticated electric motor unit wrapped round the flywheel which adds power when cruising, allowing the modestly-sized engine not to only seem like a lot larger unit, but also to supply excellent gas mileage; a lot more than 60mpg is achievable.

Battery power pack is saved within the rear seat back. Quiet and cozy yet able to sharp road holding, the IMA is a refreshingly different car to drive, yet one which looks elegant and exudes a particular class. Its only true competitor may be the Toyota Prius.
